LOVE LETS GO

To let go does NOT mean to stop caring,
it means I can't do it for someone else.

To let go is NOT to cut myself off,
it's the realization I can't control another.
To let go is NOT to enable, but it does allow others to learn the consequences of their choices.
To let go is NOT to be protective,
it's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is NOT to deny,
but to accept.
To let go is NOT to care for,
but to care about.
To let go is NOT to fix,
but to be supportive. - To let go is NOT to judge, but it frees another to fully BE the human they choose to be...
while you FEEL the JOY of issuing kindness, grace, understanding and EQUANIMITY.
To let go is NOT to arrange all the outcomes,
it allows others to affect their own destinies.
To let go is NOT to regret the past, letting go of the past allows you to rejoice in the struggle, and appreciate the rainbows that only appear in the rain...giving rise for new and glorious hope for the future.
To let go is NOT to expect others to meet my desires,
but letting go gives me FREEDOM to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in the moment, in my NOW and be AWED by God's plan for me.
To let go is NOT to criticize or regulate anybody,
but it gives me a pause, a season to focus on, and be GLAD for what I am becoming.
To let go is NOT to try to change or blame another,
it's to take responsibility, learn, grow and become who God designed me to be.
To let go is NOT to nag, scold or argue, to let go of criticizing gives me TIME
to search out my shortcomings,
confess them, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal and uproot what works against my highest good.
To let go IS to ADMIT powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go IS to fear less ---
and love more.
To let go and to let God, IS to experience peace.

  1. Dear Barb - I always love getting together with you. You and Jason are in my prayers. I will pass on the info to Katie about Crossroads. Looks great! I am glad you are happily connected to a church family. It is a wonderful feeling that you belong. You will always be my 'Sista in Christ' and in my heart you are a sister. Call for tears and cheers anytime. Love, Diana

  2. There is love in one and all. There is none bereft of love in this world. Sometimes, people may speak what they want. You should not be perturbed by such criticism. If someone criticizes you loudly, it will vanish into thin air. If they criticize you inwardly, then they will suffer. Either way, you will not be affected by it. In this manner, you should practice developing equanimity. Then, you will neither be elated by praise nor be depressed by criticism. If you want to attain God, you must have harmony in your words, thoughts and deeds. Harmony in thoughts, words and deeds is the sign of a noble person. Those who lack harmony amongst the three are wicked.

  3. EQUANIMITY = evenness of mind especially under stress. Right disposition, balance. Equanimity suggests a habit of mind that is only rarely disturbed under great strain. She accepted her troubles with equanimity. Composure implies the controlling of emotional or mental agitation by an effort of will or as a matter of habit.

  4. If someone criticizes me loudly, it will vanish into thin air. If they criticize me inwardly, then they will suffer. Either way, I am not affected by it. Any criticizim or remark made is not a threat or cause for retaliation....it is simply the right of another to express their feelings....not mine.

  5. To NOT be elated by praise, or depressed by criticism reflects the peace that one has obtained from God. All praise be to God, the Source of all that is worthy to be praised.

Living in harmony with words spoken or witheld, and with thoughts that come as quickly as they are forgotten, and with deeds meant to enhance or harm, is to be a noble person who maintains a habit of mind that is empty and clear.
