A CONSTANT GUIDE

The initial filling of the Holy Spirit occurs the moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour from all that will pass away. When we accept Jesus is Lord, we walk in the Spirit, as we are in Him, and He is in us. We are refreshed by the living God, and we thirst no more. 1 Corin 12:13 - "Some of us are slaves and others are free. But God's Spirit baptized each of us and made us part of the Body of Christ. Now we each drink from that same Spirit." Baptized and Spirit soaked, we died with Him, and we were raised up alive in Him. The Holy Spirit fills us, and we are equipped to serve the Lord and give Him great pleasure. Today in 2012, the living water of our Lord, His word satisfies all who thirst for truth, who hunger for love. Jesus fills those He calls His beloved, those who accept that He sits on the throne, that He is the King of Kings, that His ways are perfect. Jesus is the same today as He was in the beginning. Ever present, always with us, as we are indwelt by the promised Holy Spirit, the fountain of Truth, the sure Way, the beacon of Light that is the same as Jesus. Jesus assures His disciples in John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you ANOTHER (Greek meaning another; exactly the same as Jesus) Counselor to be with you forever ---the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be IN you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you. Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show Myself to him." Jesus tells us the truth, storms will come and He asks us to trust Him, and keep our eyes on Him, keep our eyes on the Word, and our feet walking in deliberate FAITH toward Him, and through the doors that He will open. Jesus continues to protect, comfort and provide for those who accept Him as Lord, who surrender to His high purpose, His plan, His power, His grace. Jesus tells us in John 14:25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." He knew the heart of His disciples, and He knows our heart. He knows that in this life, we will have trouble, we will face fears and we will be filled with His peace as we keep our eyes on Him. Just like Peter who took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink into fear, Jesus reminds us to keep our eyes on Him and speak to the storms of life in His authority, and the mountains, the challenges we face will be stilled. Jesus teaches us by His example in the living Word. Absent in form and present with the Father, Jesus physically departed, and faithful to His word, another, exactly like Him, the Counselor came into us and the Holy Spirit doth teach us and remind us of the truth. Jesus says in John 15:9-18 "As the Father has loved Me, so I have loved you. Now remain IN My love. IF you obey my commands, you will remain IN my love, just as I have obeyed My Father's commands and remain in His love. I have told you this so that My joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father, I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you to go and bear fruit --- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in My name. This is My command: Love each other." The lving Word of God waits for us to choose His everlasting economy over the failing world economy. ASK the HOLY SPIRIT to fill you, to change you, to teach you, to heal you, to lead you. Ephesians 1:13 "And you also were included in Christ when you HEARD the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having BELIEVED, you were marked in Him with a SEAL, the promised Holy Spirit." Being filled with the Holy Spirit is continuous ONLY as we pray to be forgiven. Sin grieves the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit is a holy person, He must depart from you to grieve the loss of fellowship with you. Being holy He cannot co-exist within us where the blemish of sin spreads to infect our minds, our bodies, our souls. OUR SHIELD of FAITH reminds us that we are constantly FILLED with the Holy Spirit. When a hint of doubt, fear or trouble appears in us we must choose to BATHE our MINDS, we must choose to IMMERSE our souls in Him. We must choose to CHILL, and be STILLED by His presense and admit to Jesus our slips, trips and sins. PRAY to be forgiven for what grieves the Holy Spirit. When we confess the oops of a lie to ourselves or another, the PRIDE in our thoughts, our selfish deeds, our dreaded gossip, our lustful thoughts, our sloth, our gluttony, we are purifed by His mercy, He forgives and forgets. Let us put off all that the Liar has whispered and PUT ON the armor of God. Out Shield of FAITH is that we are deliberately CONFIDENT in our LORD JESUS, in His word, His Power, His will, His Authority over any other voice! Let us rejoice in our freedom to be honest with our gracious Father as we are set free of any guilt and shame because His love, mercy and grace endures forever! Let us cinch our belt of Truth tight and win the fight against what the world would have us believe. Let us use our Sword of the Spirit, and speak the Word of God to our fear, our addiction and let us stand on the Gospel of Peace with bold confidence and contentment that Jesus is sufficient, His power is enough to assure us of our Victory in Him. Jesus directs us in Luke 11:9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? If you then, though you are evil, know how to GIVE GOOD GIFTS to children, how much MORE will your Father in heaven GIVE the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ASK HIM!" OBSERVE in the WORD: It is okay to ASK. Our heavenly Father gives us an everlasting GOOD GIFT of the Holy Spirit. God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit work together to encourage us, to comfort us, to guide us, to teach us, to lead us, to bless us. During a meal with His disciples Jesus instructed (ACTS) "For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit…..(8) but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…."But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." Our God is GOOD, our Shepherd is full of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faith Fullness, Gentleness and we possess all the FRUIT of His Spirit which includes our Self-Control. Our right, our divine ability to SPEAK the Word of God to that which seeks to destroy us, is our Breastplate of Righteousness which we must choose to wear and thus be BLESSED by His pleasure in our CHOICE to trust Him, to believe in Him and to call on Him in our time of need. THE TRUTH is GOOD - Jesus lived, died, then defeated death and rose again, just as He promised, just as He spoke the truth. God's plan is GOOD and He is faithfull in all that He says and does. Our heavenly Father delivered into us the Holy Spirit --- NOW the number of believers in 2012 has grown way past 120 million! We are God's chosen, His filled up, His annointed by the Holy Spirit, His soldiers of Faith, His empowered, the ones He called and gifted to reach every nation to fulfill God's will, that none should perish! "So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir." Galatians 4

  1. "What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, Abba Father. So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir." Galatians 4
